I’d Read Your Blog If…

You went to France!!

That’s what my boss said to me a few weeks ago in regards to reading blogs in general.
And of course it got me thinking- What do people read about? What is found interesting or intriguing? Of my personal posts, I’ve discovered that posts regarding my relationship struggles or specific New York City experiences get the most attention. Of course these are posts that I sometimes feel are beating a subject into the ground or just fussing… whereas posts about my dance or running go by seemingly unnoticed, and of course those I thought would be interesting and unique.

Which led me to wonder what kind of blogs, if any, people spend time reading?! I’ll be honest, I seldom read a blog consistently. That’s not to say I haven’t… just not often. Usually the blogs I read are those of my friends when they are traveling or embarking on some new adventure that I want to keep tabs on. I have been better at reading posts from the various blogs I’m following… but really should do more it I want to be an active member of the blogging community.

Which leads me to the point of this post– what do you all (my followers and readers) enjoy hearing about? What do you enjoy reading?

When I set out on this blog extravaganza it was because I was setting out on my New York adventure and I wanted to stay in touch with everyone. Of course that fell off the grid but I’m pretty serious about keeping this up now, so tell me what you might like to hear about!!

And please continue to share, follow, comment, like, or just read!

A Short and Simple Message

Good morning beautiful friends, family, followers, readers, viewers, and visitors.

I feel like such a horrible blog writer!  You all follow and read or even give my blog the time of day and  I’m really good at posting interesting things for a few weeks… then I totally fall of the grid for indefinite lengths of time.   Well This short message is just to say “Don’t give up on my just yet”!

I have a lot of things I want to write about and posts that are in the works… but I always seem to run out of hours in the day.  But with Fall moving into the city, I’m making a change (which my boss pointed out to me yesterday- I’m not good at).  I want to work on getting into a new routine– balancing work at both jobs, time to run and work out, time to socialize with friends and maybe meet new people, time to write interesting and engaging posts for you all to read, and time for myself… whatever that means.

I think that sounds like a good plan.  And just to keep you all interested, I’ll let you in on some of the topics I have planned for you!

– of course, more of the mini series “Sharing is Scare” with dance pictures, videos, and experiences.

– More on life style and culture in New York City, including a piece on Subway travel

– Some posts with a variety of photos from outings in and around the city including “I #liveforcloudydays” (which is also a tag only I have on Instagram… you should check it out @NYChristiane )

– And of course, I’m sure more posts on my personal tango with love, loss, relationships, feelings, life styles, and daily life in general.

Well now, if that does not sound like fun, I don’t know what does!!!

So hang in there and stay tuned, more good stuff is on the way.  Till then, follow, comment, read, share, like, etc.  Also look for my on Instagram and Twitter:  @NYChristiane

Now, if you are in NYC- go out and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!  I already for my run in this morning and I feel great!

love always, christiane

Same blog, different look!!

NAME CHANGE!  but it’s still me  🙂

Hey y’all!  How’s your Saturday going?  I’m at work… but as usual it’s pretty quiet and so I thought, why not spent a little quality time updating and upGRADING my beautiful blog?!!

I decided, sense I now live in New York (I’m no longer visiting) and I don’t work at MoMA anymore, that I would change the blog title to reflect this.  I’ve been talking about how I want to give this blog more structure and purpose and I think this is helping me get on the right track.

I now work a lot in the health and fitness world and I’m very active myself… so I would like to share more of that here with you all (and hopefully more readers!).  I also live in a city that never sleeps and has new adventures waiting around every corner, which has always made for great posts!

So please continue to follow, share, like and comment… as I continue to live the dream in NYC!

love always,  Christiane

Christiane, what the hell

are you doing?

that’s what I’m asking myself at the very moment… at 12:21AM on a rainy thursday night… sitting on my bed… exhausted from working 12 days straight at both jobs… but really wanting to write a post before bed– get back into this.

So here I am, with my candles and fan and throw pillows and Winton Marsalis Pandora radio.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve discovered that the universe really does work in mysterious ways. It has a way of putting a thought in your head and promptly making that thought come true. If you are aware enough, of yourself and surroundings, you see this and can truly enjoy the little special things that are thrown your way.

This has been on my mind because I’ve had 2 such events in the past month or so. 1. I was watching one of my favorite movies “The Devil Wear Prada” with the directors commentary on and all they could talk about were sections of the BOOK that they had to leave out of the MOVIE but that they really liked. So of course- it made me want to read the book. Two days later I’m at Goodwill on 181st and what do I find on the bookshelf but a hard back copy of “Devil Wears Prada” in great condition and half off! I couldn’t believe that I had just wised I had the book… and now I do! (it’s very good BTW. A different post coming soon about all my summer reading).
2. I work a job where I interact and get to know hundreds of people a week. But some people, some of the evening studio regulars, I know well… and of course when I haven’t seen someone in a while I start to wonder where they are. Cut to the actual story- I was backing up my iPad last night and deleting extraneous photos when I came across one of a member and I with our matching Swatch Watches (long story) but I realized I hadn’t seen her in months. I’m at work tonight, less then 24 hours after seeing that photo and thinking about her, and who walks in but Heather! I couldn’t believe it! We were able to chat after class and it was so great.

These small happenings and others make me wonder… and here I go getting all hypothetical and wishy, but that happens when I’m writing at 12:3am… Maybe the universe is watching out for me on a grander level. Maybe if I put out there enough positive thoughts and loving wishes that it will hold on to them and deliver them where they should go?
Do we believe this stuff? I didn’t always, but I’ve come to more and more. Sometimes things work out and happen in a way that’s more then chance Maybe all is not lost… just different.

And before I get anymore ambiguous or philosophical, I’m gonna change tracks fast.

I spent the better part of an hour of work tonight trying to figure out if there is a way to change the title of a BLOG on WordPress. Sense I’m no longer at MoMA and I’m living in (not traveling to) NYC, I wanted to make the initial title something more relevant.
I thought about starting another one and hoping all of you, my lovely followers and readers, would transition over… but that felt a bit like giving up on this one. So I’m not, BUT if anyone out there has any advice for on the topic, please share!

I don’t know how Blogs get tons and tons of followers and comments and shares. Of course, this blog is mostly personal, but I’d love to expand my audience and work more on writing a variety of posts on different topics, some more personal then others.

I’d call that a goal… and look! There’s 2 posts in 2 days! I said I’m back and I meant it.

Remember to follow, comment, like, and share. I’m on Instagram @cadance13
I’d love you y’all to check it out!

Till I write again- sweet dreams (and if you’re in NYC- be dry!)
